    Sellars striders question…?
What if you haven’t run before and you are very unfit, and wanting to loose a lot of weight. How can you help or is the group to advanced and comfortable with the level they are at? Would love to start running and getting fit but terrified…..

Great question! the group is for runners that are able run for a minimum distance of 5k (3 miles) in around 40 minutes or less. (its difficult to manage a group with too broad a spread of abilities) For those new to running or contemplating starting for weight loss, fitness and general health benefits etc would benefit from the NHS couch to 5k plan. Once you are able to run for 20 minutes continuously, contact me and separate training can be arranged ahead of joining the group run. The NHS C to 5k plan is good, but many need to tailor to their abilities, ie shortening the plan as its too easy or lengthening as its too tough. Once you are able to complete 5k, the improvements in pace/distance usually come much quicker than it takes to get that first 5k! Regards, Gary.
