Would you like to form a Neighbourhood Watch?……I’ve seen comments on the spotted Facebook page of people mentioning suspicious happenings in the Hardwicke, Quedgely and Kingsway area…if we all got together with appropriate signage and an eagle eye we could make the community safer for all. Please sign up and comment your thoughts. Could this be something the management company could help us with….. A conversation to be had here I think.

I am sure that anything to deter the opportunists (or more organised types) would be welcome.
Would be interested, should we set up a meeting in The Pilot in the new year? Would be a good opportunity to meet new neighbours, support the pub, discuss neighbourhood watch…and have a pint.
Watch this space….I’m currently in contact with the neighbourhood watch coordinator for Gloucestershire Police. Once I have more details I’ll get them posted on here. Not that an excuse for a cheeky pint is required but….If you have a good reason it helps.
Hello new to the site. I live in the apartment block and I have been contacting the non emergency police about suspicious activity regarding the building site. I am unemployed at current due to mental health issues. I tend to be up more in the early hours (after midnight) so would gladly get involved in any Neighbourhood Watch.

What suspicious activity are you referring to in your post above?
One night (quite late) there was a lot of police vehicles outside the block by the building site entrance, I asked what has happened and they said someone had reported seeing someone inside the building site. Then a few weeks ago, I saw that the pedestrian side entrance was wide open, so I called 101 thinking someone had broken in, but I think it was just neglect from the builders the previous day. But still keep my eye out, when I go outside for a ciggy (don’t like to smoke in my new home).
“I’ve lost my football” was the excuse given yesterday by the two people located by the police dog unit. You have to question the validity of this at 8pm on a Sunday evening in the pouring rain. Thanks to the eagle eyed resident who pointed this one out to the police.
Remember it’s not just a building site, it’s the area we all call home.
There seems a lot of people going behind the hedge (rear of our car-park) and the site fence, with their dogs? Is there a path behind there lead to the field? Or I hope people aren’t allowing their dogs to foul behind there, especially as it will be a playground soon for children.
Just goes to show that we need to be vigilant. I imagine that most are opportunists but once they realise that they cannot not enter the site without having to explain themselves to the police every time, they will hopefully lose interest.
With regards to the hedge, I don’t know if there is a path but possibly there is access into the nature strip between the estate and the canal. Once the site is completed this should be secured.
